This has been the best humidifier ~ does great job, works well, quiet, no leaking, easy to fill and my cats can’t knock it over as they did with the tall tower models I had. I hope the other reviewer decided to unpack it and keep it. I have tried several other kinds and this model is the best. I bought a 2nd one for the upstairs. Mine works fine without leaking and requires no maintenance other than changing the wick once a year. Replacing the water has been very easy for me. It requires refills of water about every other night during winter and if run only at night. We had tried cool mist & ultra sonic humidifiers, but they sprayed white powder from our hard water all over the room. This evaporative machine was reasonably priced & has increased the ambient humidity in our bedroom by nearly 40%. We are sleeping better, our allergies are improved, our skin looks better, & there is less dust to clean up. The only negative is that we are going through filters about every 6 weeks due to hard water mineral deposits clogging up the filter (looks like frigging stalagmites of salt in there sometimes lol). That is not an indictment of the product, as much as it is for our city water supply. At least the filter is catching the stuff & keeping it out of the air! The fan on setting 4 (highest) is distractingly loud, but setting 3 works fine for us. Used with the Essick Air Bacteriostatic stuff, we have had zero slime problems. 0 |
