I purchased one about 5 years ago and used in in my living room, then in my home office. We recently remodeled our bedroom and I wanted one for each night table. I was delighted that I could find a matching lamp so long after my initial purchase. I love the high low option and the arm lets you position the light just where you need it. This "Tiffany style" lamp works well with several decorating styles such as Eclectic, California Contemporary, California Mission, Native American in general, Southwestern Native American, Pioneer Western, Rustic, or Plains. THE SHADE Especially at night, the shade gives off a warm, mellow glow. The dispersed pool of white light cast on the desk’s work surface is neither harsh nor dull. I use my laptop on my desk so this lamp provides enough light to see my keyboard and provides more than enough light for writing on the desk, to the side of my laptop. No vessel sailing the Pacific Ocean will mistake my lamp glowing from my window for a lighthouse beacon. THE BASE THE ARTICULATING ARM THE BEZEL ASSEMBLY TO CHANGE THE SHADE ANGLE GRIP THE BEZEL, NOT THE SHADE! Use a small phillips head screwdriver or small pliers to tighten the small screws more securely than you can do by hand. Again, by gripping the bezel instead of the shade to change the shade angle, as designed, not the shade itself, you will avoid working the shade loose from the bezel, needing to periodically reattach it, then possibly and incorrectly complain about a bad design.
