This product has really cool features, including multiple timers, flicker, non-flicker, dimmer! Wow! And a super duper feature is that is takes two ‘C’ cell batteries per candle which means you can run these 10 times longer than the others!! I guess with monthly and holiday use, they will run for over a year or two at a day here and there. Best of all, you get 4 candles instead of 3 for a similar price. You will soon learn that more candles is better with flameless because they are so desirable. This is a must buy for any candle freak. The candles are only pink in the daylight. In a dark room, with candles on, they definately appear to be a neutral (yellow/grey?) color, which is definately not pink and not white. I have white flameless and I can easily see the difference. So don’t buy these to cast a pink light, because they will not. However, if your (her!) bedroom has pink curtains, etc, then this is what you want. I do like white candles for xmas, but otherwise, these are a must have for every other occasion or bedroom. They are dimmable which is really nice because they have relatively large fake bulb enclosures that can create alot of light on high setting. They do not smell scented at all (not a biggy since you want light, not scent). And they feel like wax but they do not fingernail scratch like wax, and seem more solid than wax and more durable. Overall, this is a super great value, with a low price, and a remote control loaded with features unlike any other. Buy this product! I don’t know if one remote will operate 2 sets of 8 candles. I prefer white, but I will probably buy another set of these pink things.

I put these on candle holders up on our mantle over the fireplace. They are coated with real wax and smell like real candles.
Having several family members with asthma that are supposed to avoid real candles was a bummer. It is great to have all the romantic lighting benefits of candles now without having to worry about it affecting anyone’s asthma.

The remote control is great, since I don’t have to reach way up there to turn the candles on. It’s also sort of fun to play a joke on the kids with the candles- hiding the remote, and pretending we could “blow out” the candles from across the room…the looks on their faces were priceless.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that by starting them all at the same time, they have the same “flicker” pattern in unison, so it does look a bit “fake” that way.

Our living room is about 20 feet long, and the remote works constistently well from anywhere in it.

Do as the instructions say though and turn off the power switch for the candles if you aren’t going to use them for a while, or the batteries will drain down.

In the past we’ve tried a few flameless candles I can’t say I thought much of them. Much like anything else in life you end up getting what you pay for. I ordered a few sets of these the both for our own home and as gifts, along with a few boxes of Rayovac C batteries (each of these candles take two of them).

They’re lovely albeit not as nice when lit as some others – especially the IMAGEO candles by Phillips which have built in Lithium Ion batteries and a separate charging plate.

Back to these candles some nice touches are:

* Made from real wax with a bit of a frosted outside which is textured – they’re quite elegant even when turned off.

* Wine red color is nice and warm – however it washes out when the candles are lit. More on this in a moment.

* Build quality is excellent

* Remote allows you to adjust the flicker, on and off, set the timer for either 4 or 8 hours

A couple issues to keep in mind – the candles will appear yellow when lit especially in a dim room. In a well lit room the red remains, however expect them to be yellow when using them in low light conditions.

The company offers another line of these that have a color selection mode. The light can be set to change colors automatically or you can select a constant color. Unfortunately, this particular set doesn’t provide that option.

We tried them set up in a cluster out on our sun porch in very dark conditions, the light compared to actual candles is no where as bright or warming. However, they look quite nice and I would think using multiple sets would solve the problem. That or using other low light sources, other flameless candles, real candles, soft up-lighting and so on.

* Remember to remove the plastic film around each candle it’s easy to think this is part of the candle – lunk head that I am it took me a day or two to realize these coatings are meant to be peeled off. Once off the "sheen’ is gone and you can appreciate the look of the textured wax.

The candles arrive in a perfect box from Orange Tree and candle is packaged within a decorative box. Included is a sheet of instructions. You’ll want to keep the remote which is very tiny in a place where you won’t loose it – it’s that small.

These candles, do have an upscale and elegant look. The remote is effortless to use and they produce a realistic flicker. My one and only gripe is that red of the candles washes out completely to yellow when they’re on – and they’re dependant on batteries. I would think buying re – chargeable C batteries and large charger will save both money and the hassle of having to keep buying C batteries. Those issues aside, neither are deal breakers as the candles do have an authentic look.

A very good value in relationship to price.
